Samsung Electronics has inaugurated its exhibition titled ‘Design is an Act of Love’ at Design Miami Seoul 2026, an influential design event held from September 1-6 in Seoul. This initiative underscores Samsung’s commitment to a design philosophy centered on a profound understanding and consideration for human needs.
The exhibition features Samsung’s Expressive Design ethos through contributions from 14 Korean artists, who offer unique reinterpretations of various Samsung products. These creations are displayed on the 2026 OLED TV S95H, complemented by 14 custom frames that integrate seamlessly into the artistic presentations. The resulting collection exemplifies the diverse perspectives and interpretations of Samsung’s design principles.
Artistic Reinterpretation of Samsung Products
Each artist utilized their distinct vision and innovative approach, enhanced by artificial intelligence, to transform Samsung’s products into individual works of art. The collaborative effort began with each artist’s own creative input, with AI playing a significant role in enhancing and realizing their ideas.
- Among the reimagined products are the Music Studio 5, Bespoke AI Refrigerator Family Hub, and Galaxy Z Fold 8.
- The artworks span eight products, including mobile devices, home appliances, and televisions, seamlessly integrating Samsung’s core design values with the artists’ unique aesthetics.
The S95H OLED TV, a focal point of the exhibition, is showcased with 14 bespoke frames, exemplifying how a singular product can encompass varied artistic interpretations through Samsung’s Expressive Design strategy.
The S95H is characterized by Samsung’s Float Layer Design, which creates the illusion of the screen hovering above a real-metal base, contributing to its distinctive appearance while harmonizing with diverse environments.
These custom frames enrich the S95H by aligning with the displayed artwork, highlighting how the same product can embody different characters based on setting and personal preference.
The exhibition is being held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul. On September 3, Mauro Porcini, Samsung’s Chief Design Officer, will engage in a discourse to elucidate Samsung’s design vision further.
