Samsung Electronics has announced its role as the exclusive provider of private 5G network solutions for Hana Financial Group’s new smart office at their headquarters in Incheon, South Korea. This marks a significant advancement in the Korean financial sector, blending enhanced mobility with security and paving the way for AI transformation.
Comprehensive Smart Office Infrastructure
In collaboration with SK Telecom, Samsung has equipped Hana Financial Group’s headquarters, spanning 16 floors, with a comprehensive smart office infrastructure. The facility supports thousands of employees and multiple group affiliates. Using 5G-enabled devices, employees benefit from seamless, ubiquitous connectivity, enhancing both productivity and spatial efficiency while reducing resource allocation for office reconfiguration. This infrastructure forms a robust foundation for integrating AI into routine operations.
Enhanced Security for Financial Data
Given the high sensitivity of financial data, including customer credit and banking information, the smart office incorporates a multi-layered security framework. This includes advanced encryption, firewalls, DDoS protection, and USIM-based authentication, ensuring network access is restricted to authorized devices and users. Samsung’s private 5G solutions offer the security of wired networks with the flexibility of wireless connectivity.

Samsung provided a full suite of network solutions, including radios, baseband, and cloud-native core, utilizing the mid-band (4.7GHz) spectrum for private 5G networks in Korea. The deployment supports network slicing, enabling discrete virtual network slices for each subsidiary of Hana Financial Group, customized to meet specific business needs and security policies.
