The Googlebook combines Android technology with ChromeOS desktop elements, tailored for the Gemini Intelligence platform. It is engineered to function seamlessly with your Android phone from the moment you set it up. Your device settings, passwords, Wi-Fi networks, and messages are transferred securely, allowing you to transition smoothly between devices.
Premium Design and Performance
Each Googlebook is constructed with high-quality materials such as aluminum, magnesium alloy, and carbon fiber. The laptops feature responsive touchscreens up to 2.8K OLED, haptic glass trackpads, and backlit keyboards. Under the hood, they are powered by top-tier Intel and Qualcomm processors and equipped with NPUs providing over 45 TOPS for swift performance and a battery life of up to 14 hours.
The Glowbar, a popular feature, returns with innovative functions such as displaying battery levels and engaging animations when interacting with Gemini.
Software and Security
With the Googlebook, you get the best of both the web and the Play Store. Enjoy a desktop-class Chrome browser with extensions, millions of Android apps optimized for larger screens, and access to creative tools like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. Streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are supported with offline viewing options. Additionally, a complimentary year of GeForce NOW is included for gaming enthusiasts.
For developers, the Googlebook offers Antigravity, an AI agent development platform, along with a full terminal environment for coding. Security is a priority, with the Googlebook incorporating ChromeOS’s security architecture, including the Google Titan hardware root of trust and on-device malware detection.
As a first in the laptop category, the device features a Level 5 security-certified pKVM hypervisor, providing a secure Linux environment with full terminal access for safe tool execution and code management.
The Googlebook package includes a year of Google AI Pro, offering 5TB of cloud storage and access to Gemini Advanced tools, along with 3 months of YouTube Premium and Adobe Photoshop. The operating system promises regular updates and feature enhancements for up to 10 years.
Pre-orders are open on the Google Store, Best Buy, and other selected retailers, with availability starting in the U.S. on October 4 and in Canada, the U.K., Ireland, France, Germany, and Australia on October 5.
