Google Labs has unveiled Dreambeans, an innovative app that employs artificial intelligence to craft daily stories aimed at connecting you with what truly matters, bypassing the relentless digital noise.
In today’s world dominated by endless scrolling, Dreambeans stands out as a new experiment from Google Labs. Utilizing advanced AI technologies, including Personal Intelligence and Nano Banana 2, the app generates tailored daily stories. These stories are designed to cut through the clutter and focus your attention on significant matters.
Dreambeans, with your consent, leverages Personal Intelligence to gather information from your Google apps, such as Gmail, Calendar, Photos, YouTube, and Search history. The app’s purpose is not to keep you scrolling indefinitely; instead, it offers a limited set of stories crafted to inspire new ideas and help you focus on what is important to you.
As an example, if you receive an email confirmation about a delivery of puppy treats, Dreambeans might display training tips using those treats. Additionally, if your Google Calendar indicates a friend’s upcoming visit, the app might suggest dog-friendly restaurants in your area. Each story is accompanied by a unique illustration that reflects the people and places you frequently engage with.
If a story piques your interest, you can tap to explore further. Dreambeans integrates information from across the web to aid you in taking action, such as finding nearby dog parks or locating puppy training classes. You can save stories to your library and revisit them anytime.
The app allows you to refine your story preferences. If a suggestion isn’t quite right, you can give feedback, helping to enhance future story collections. Should Dreambeans overlook an important aspect, like a new hobby, you can provide feedback to ensure it’s included in future stories.
To function, Dreambeans requires at least one connected app, though it performs optimally when all are enabled. You have the autonomy to select which apps personalize your daily stories.
Your privacy remains under your control. Decisions made within Dreambeans do not affect settings in other Google products, such as Gemini Apps or AI Mode.
Dreambeans is being launched today for Google AI Ultra subscribers aged 18 and over in the U.S., available on both Android and iOS. Others interested can join the waitlist on the official website using a personal Google account.
