Today at Connect 2026, exciting updates were announced for Meta Ray-Ban Display, including the introduction of new features, online purchasing options, and an expansion into five additional markets.
Hands-free navigation
A popular feature among users of Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses is heads-up navigation, which is now being enhanced. Starting later this month, users in the US and Canada will be able to request cycling directions or real-time public transit departures using voice commands. This will allow them to view these directions directly on the display, keeping their phones safely tucked away. Additionally, the glasses will provide walking directions that reference landmarks rather than street names, such as instructing you to turn left at a yellow house.
Hologram feature for calls
Enhancing the hands-free call experience, the new Hologram feature allows the person on the other end to see a photorealistic digital version of your face. After capturing a short video in the Meta AI app, users can utilize this feature for calls on Meta Ray-Ban Display. The hologram, which responds to your voice, will be available in Early Access on WhatsApp for users in the US this fall.
Explore new apps
Soon, users will have access to a range of experiences designed for Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses through the new Explore app on the device and the Meta AI app. This will include opportunities to learn, explore, and engage with various interactive experiences.
Capture moments with Dolby Atmos
These glasses are the first consumer device enabling video capture with Dolby Atmos sound, allowing users to record and relive experiences with immersive spatial surround sound.
Stay organized with advanced features
- Enhanced calendar: From the glasses, view meeting attendees, respond to invites, and join meetings, available in English in the US.
- Mirrored notifications: Soon, phone notifications will appear directly on the Meta Ray-Ban Display screen, allowing users to manage which notifications to display.
- Community feeds: Experience real-time interactions with Threads, follow curated Community Feeds, and repost threads, all from the glasses.
Availability and ordering
Meta Ray-Ban Display will be more accessible as it expands to the UK, Canada, France, Italy, and Germany, with online ordering now available in the US and these new markets. Sales begin today in Canada and the UK, with pre-orders starting in France, Italy, and Germany, leading up to full availability on October 13.
