A couple living in the western suburbs, a 37 year old who travelled from South Africa on November 25 and 36 year old friend who came from the US on the same day tested positive for Omicron. They had taken Pfizer’s Covid vaccine and are currently admitted to Seven Hills Hospital in Andheri. Resultantly, Maharashtra’s total tally has now reached 10.
As a part of checks at airport since 1st December, all the 6263 travellers from high risk countries were subjected to Covid test and 11 tested positive. The state is also carrying out field surveillance checks on passengers who arrived from high risk countries between November 1 and 30.
